The furniture system was developed for the municipal art space Kunst Raum Mitte in Berlin, formerly “galerie weisser elefant”, founded in 1987 in East Berlin. They combine industrially produced chipboard and blockboard with profiled skirting, paying homage to the old-building space and its historic layers while also being conceived as a pragmatic,  low-cost solution. They work as single pieces as well as in various modular constellations, enabling artists and curators to put them to use in many different situations: as displays for the space’s historic archive, to showcase artworks, or to host events.
