With “Metabolic Rift” Berlin Atonal 2021 takes a new direction. An (un)guided exhibition tour opens up the entire Kraftwerk building in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

The show features over 20 large-scale audiovisual works, in-situ installations, and musical phenomena developed for the Kraftwerk space.
It is a tour of spaces, some of them previously unused, in which artworks appear and disappear in a choreographed sequence. Borrowing from the logic of a “ghost train,” the works appear one after the other, similar to a musical score.

The displays allow the works to float within the architecture, but also align them with it. Thus they are shown as site-specific and yet independent.
