The Soft Screen modules are three-dimensional pillows that can be easily assembled into loose, open structures, or closed surfaces that make for effective, acoustic room dividers. Recycled polyester fibers are laminated with different color fabrics on each side.
Soft Screen is part of the Fiber Mates project, a collaboration of designers Laura Jungmann, Jonathan Radetz, Elena Tezak and myself with the German company Fiber Engineering GmbH.
The aim of the project is to design and develop products that illustrate the advantages of a new manufacturing process called Fiber Injection Molding (FIM). The waste-free method can be used to recycle scraps from other industries and to substitute processes like PU-foaming in a healthier and more eco-sensitive way.
